I don’t know where is this came from but I would like to share it with you.
There was a church looking for a new minister. There were many who came to this small church and gave sample sermons to the elders. One day a man came by and preached a wonderful sermon to the elders and he was hired.
Sunday was here and all were excited to see, meet and hear the minister. He walked to the pulpit and gave the same sermon as he did to the elders. That was all right the other parishioners had not heard it yet.
The following Sunday he preached the same sermon. Well though the elders, we will see what he does the next week.
The third Sunday rolls around and sure enough this new minister preached the same sermon three times to the congregation and four to the elders. They thought is this the only sermon he know or what is going on here. The elders mustered up the gumption to go speak with their new minister. “Pastor, we are a little concerned. We have heard you speak 4 different times and every time you have spoken the same sermon each time. How come?”
“Well, the way I see it, if we’re not getting what the Lord is sayin’, then why go on to something else.”
Are you getting what the Lord is speaking to you or are just wanting Him to go on to the next thing.
2 Timothy 4:1-5
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
God bless you. It is only by His great grace that are we able to have the hope we have in Him. Many blessings to you.
