Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Why is it so hard for so many of us to believe God is able to do something even though there doesn’t seem to any natural possibility.
W. A. Ward said, “Faith is knowing there is an ocean, because you have seen a brook.”
Here is this verse in the Amplified Bible.
Hebrews 11:1 (AMP) Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
Where is your faith? Why have we stopped believing? Faith is what gives us hope to see us through today. We believe there is an ocean at the end of rivers and streams, so why can we believe God isn’t able to do for that we can not see. Where is our hope or trust?Matthew 8:25-27 (KJV) 25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
The disciple let their fear get to them. They quickly had forgotten what Jesus just did for them and many others. He worked miracles before them and yet they feared the wind and the storm. Are we not much the same. We forget because of fear. Fear is just another way of saying we do not believe. Let us trust the Lord in the midst of the storms of our lives no matter how tempest the sea may rage about us.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
We need faith, it is imperative. We need to believe and trust in the Lord no mater what we see, feel or think. Without faith we will lose. Faith in Jesus produces life. A life without fear and other anxieties.
Lord bless you. Thank you for taking a few minutes from your day and reading here at pinchofgrace.
