Hello all, Hi my name is Candy Clonts.

When I started this blog, Feb 15, 2011 and it is Dec 2013 today. Wow! I look at that date and wonder where time has gone. A lot has taken place and happened since Feb of 2011.

But the desire and purpose has never changed for this blog.

Here is how it started! 🙂

I decided to start this blog after much prayer and wondering why God would choose this for me to put my daily thoughts for all to see.

In praying and thinking on this, I thought, “You know Lord, I am not the only one with a desire for You and ng to write about daily struggles. But Lord, doesn’t everyone, from one end of the spectrum to the other deal with and live with much the same in our walk with You.” My answer came back, “Yes, not always, trust me for this.” Okay, I do trust Him. Then I  asked, “How am I different from anyone else. There are a number of wonderful people out there, sites I visit often, that are much more capable and have greater abilities to put thoughts down so that they are easily understood.” Then you know how some times you are getting the “LOOK”. My dad has one of those “LOOKS”.  “Okay, okay, I want to do whatever You want me to do. It doesn’t matter how capable I feel that I am, God, You are far more able than I.”

So here is pinchofgrace.

As for the name “pinchofgrace,” a dear young lady that stayed in our home for a while gave me the idea. The name was for something else…a restaurant. I love to cook. So along with devotions and inspirational thoughts you may have a recipe or two come your way. She says that I always add a ‘pinch of grace’ to all that I cook and how I serve it…”with grace” and that is why everything is so good. I appreciate the wonderful comment from her and the desire for me to do something with what God has blessed me with. So far it is not a restaurant, but a blog site.

I trust you will enjoy the entries that God gives me and that they challenge you as much as they challenge me as I look to Jesus for my daily walk and relationship with Him.

Thank you and may you continue to press forward in your walk and relationship with Jesus.

In the grace and hope of our Lord Jesus,

Candy Clonts

PS….

The past few years  have been a few years of loses. I have “felt” more lose than I have gain. As the Apostle Paul said, Philippians 1:21 (KJV) 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Paul understood what Jesus was telling His disciples here in Matthew and Luke.

Matthew 16:21-26 (KJV) 21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Luke 9:18-25 (KJV) 18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am? 19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again. 20 He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God. 21 And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing; 22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. 23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

To live for Christ Jesus is to give up, deny, count as nothing all that I am, my flesh, my wants and desires, etc… for His honor and glory is life. But if I choose to want all I want and desire to be right and good in my sight and thought, it is death. Maybe not a physical death but most assuredly a spiritual death.

My hearts desire is to live for Christ, to bring HIm honor and glory in all I do and say. “Not my will but His.” To deny ones self is not an easy task, but well worth the labor.

My motto or key verse is still and will continue to be so, Romans 15:13. The Lord has shown me so many things through this verse. I will break it down for you one day. This verse is truly a blessing. I would like to share a few other versions of this verse with you.

Romans 15:13 (KJV) 13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 15:13 (AMP) 13 May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.

Romans 15:13 (NLT) 13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13 (GW) 13 May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace through your faith in him. Then you will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
