Oklahoma Tragedy, Let ‘US’ Pray!

I would like to express my most deepest sympathies to all who is affected by this past storm.

You have cried many tears of hurt, frustration, fear, anger, sorrow, pain, loss, disbelief and..........

You have cried many tears of hurt, frustration, fear, anger, sorrow, pain, loss, disbelief and……….

The stories, pictures and media, can not show or express what is in your hearts and minds. These can not show your heartache, devastation and loss. Just watching what I have seen and heard, I have cried and wept for you. I don’t understand nor will I ever claim to.

My heart aches and saddened by this loss and for you, your families and friends.

....Jesus has seen every thing. He has felt and seen all you have gone through. You are not alone, He is with you always.

….Jesus has seen every thing. He has felt all you have gone through. You are not alone, He is with you always.
“You have seen me tossing and turning through the night. You have collected all my tears and preserved them in your bottle! You have recorded every one in your book.” Psalms 56:8 (TLB)

My sincere prayers are with you and for you tonight and the days to come.

Sometimes I wonder what difference one persons prays could make. They can change the world of many.

1 Corinthians 12:26 (NKJV) 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

We are still “ONE NATION”  and a nation “UNDER GOD.” We are “ONE NATION UNDER GOD.” Amen!

When one  part of our nation hurts the rest of it feels it also. I truly believe this. I know this passage of Scripture is talking about the body of Christ being and working as one, I would like to apply it to “US, that is, YOU and ME,” in this country, we are on body, “ONE NATION.” When one suffers (hurts) we all feel it in some way, we are all affected.

The rest of the passage before this verse is as follows:                                         1 Corinthians 12:14-26 (NKJV) 14 For in fact the body (nation-just think of “the body” as OUR country, OUR nation as “ONE NATION UNDER GOD”) is not one member but many. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be? 20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, 24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

We need one another! No one is above or better than the other. We all serve a specific and important place, just don’t pass yours off to someone else because you don’t think isn’t as important than someone else…or visa-versa. 🙂

Like we have seen and experienced in past tragedies and devastations in our country, it has been the care we “THE PEOPLE” have pulled together by love, grace and mercies of the mighty Living God, the great I AM, the creator of all heaven and earth, the father of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, which He is working in and through the hearts of people, for people.

Oklahoma can not make this ‘new journey’ they are now facing on their own.

There are many who will be able to go and help physically, financially, health and medically, giving and taking needed food and supplies. There will be ones going to help set up temporary housing and such. Schools and churches will be opening their door to help in any way and so will other business and the like. There are numberous ways of helping theses in Oklahoma. Please, don’t get so busy and caught up in all the necessary “doing” of things, take the time to stop and pray for them. Prayer can and has moved nations. Prayer can certainly move and work on the behalf of every person this has touched in some way by this past “storm”.

Let us ALL, daily remember to pray for these in need of much prayer. Some of us may not be able to be there or do anything ‘physically,’ but WE ALL CAN PRAY!

My prayers and thoughts go out to each one of you all. To those who are hurting and suffering, to the medical aid staff and hospitals, service men and women, search and rescue, police, firemen/women, EMT’sRed Cross (and others), the city and state officials and any others; to ALL of you who are there in the middle of this terrible tornado aftermath and giving yourselves to what needs to be done. As I mentioned before many schools, churches, businesses, and individuals will b opening their doors to many, I pray for you. I ask for wisdom, encouragement and the ability to do the task that is being set before you. It is not going to be easy. I applaud those of you who are there to lend that hand to those in need. Lord bless you for your work, nothing is TOO small.

I trust you will continue in your faith in God and look to HIm for your comfort where there seems to be none is sight. He is there with you, be encouraged tonight and the days ahead.

Lord bless you, this is sent with much prayer to you.

IN COMPARISON OR BY DESIGN

What is our desire?

How am I going to carry that thing home and burry it so Charlie in the next yard won’t try to get to it? How? He doesn’t deserve any of it. He barks at me all the time. It will be mine!

Galatians 6:4 (AMP) But let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work. He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable [in itself alone] without [resorting to] boastful comparison with his neighbor. Galatians 6:4 (NLTPay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.

Galatians 6:4 (TLBLet everyone be sure that he is doing his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work well done and won’t need to compare himself with someone else.

Galatians 6:4 (KJV)  But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

Lets's talk

Lets’s talk

GETTING THE IDEA! STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS. IT IS LIKE COMPARING APPLE TO ORANGES; COCONUTS TO KIWIS; THE DOG TO THE CAT; THE RABBIT TO THE TURTLE; THE HIPPO TO THE GIRAFFE; THE PEACOCK TO THE OSTRICH; THE GRIZZLY TO THE KOALA; FROM THE TWO ROOM SIZE COMPUTER TO THE ONE THAT SITS IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND; HER TO SHE; HIM TO HE….AND IT GOES ON. THERE ARE NO COMPARISONS.ARE YOU DOING WHAT YOU KNOW THE LORD IS DESIRING FOR YOU. OKAY! MAKE SURE NOW? THEN BE HAPPY AND CONTENT WITH WHO AND WHAT YOU ARE IN JESUS.

THE LORD HAS SPECIFIC ‘JOBS,’ GIFTS FOR EACH ONE OF US. WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND WE CAN NOT ALL DO THE SAME THING. SOME MAY HAVE THE SAME OFFICE IN DIFFERENT PLACES, BUT THEY OPERATE IN A DESIGN THAT IS RIGHT FOR WHERE THEY ARE PLACED.

DO NOT DESIRE ANOTHER’S PLACE. GOD PUTS US WHERE HE KNOWS WE WILL BE MOST EFFECTIVE. IF HE PLACES YOU TALKING TO YOUR NEIGHBOR ACROSS THE FENCE, PRAISE THE LORD, THERE IS YOUR MINISTRY AN PLACE FOR NOW AS GOD SEES FIT. AT WORK YO MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SHARE THE GOSPEL BUT OUTSIDE IN THE COURTYARD AT LUNCH. BUT THIS CRAZY GUY THAT CONTINUES TO COME TO YOUR TABLE ISN’T THE ONE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO ABOUT JESUS. OH YA, YA WANNA BET. THAT IS WHO GOD MATCHED YOU WITH. MINISTER WHERE THE LORD HAS PUT YOU. DON’T WANT SOMEONE ELSES POSITION, YOU MAY GET IT AND IT WILL BE MORE THAN YOU BARGIN FOR.

The body of Christ

The body of Christ is made up of many, not just a few, but many working together.

1 Corinthians 12:12-27 (ESV) 12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body— Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. 14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? 18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, 24 which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, 25 that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. 27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 1 Corinthians 12:1 (NKJV) 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:

just like everyone else

I want to be like them. I hope no one notices I’m really not like them.

THE LORD WANTS US TO UNDERSTAND WHERE WE ARE IS WHERE HE HAS PLACED US. WE DO NOT HAVE TO GO LOOKING FOR A POSITION, HE WILL PUT US THERE, WE JUST NEED TO SEEK HIM AND HIS WILL WITH OUR WHOLE HEART AND GOD WILL PUT US WHERE HE SEES AS THE BEST POSSIBLE PLACE EVER.1 Corinthians 12:11 (NKJV) 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

WHERE WE ARE PLACED IS BY GODS HOLY DESIGN. WHEN GOD DESIGNS SOMETHING DON’T MESS WITH IT, THAT WILL SPELL TROUBLE FOR US.

DON’T TRY TO WANT OR COVET WHAT YOU WERE NOT GIVEN.

YOU ARE YOU. YOU ARE WHO GOD CREATED YOU TO BE. ENJOY AND REJOICE IN THE PLACE THE LORD HAS DESIGNED AND PLACED YOU TO MINISTER. STOP COMPARING YOURSELF WITH THE PERSON IN THE NEXT PEW OR THE CHURCH ACROSS TOWN. COMPARISON OF THIS NATURE WILL ONLY DEFEAT YOU AND THE BODY OF CHRIST, LOCALLY AND WORLDWIDE.

Perfect day. Contented.

Perfect day. Contented.

We are Christs. He did not design us to be robots nor did He design us to all do the same thing, no one would get anything done for the Lord. One last word I’d like to leave with you as I close. This is the key to stop with the comparing of one another and wanting something we can’t have.

Hebrews 13:5-6 (KJV) 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

I am going to reword this verse in my own words.

“Allow your manner of life, your behavior and way of living and doing things be without wanting more than you have or what others have (what you cannot have), and be content and fully satisfied with what you do have. WHY? I the Lord, I am with you and I will be there for you when you need Me in any given situation. I will help you and lead you. One thing I ask, trust Me.”

Lord bless you.  I love spending time with you and I trust to meet with you again soon.

It’s time we grew up in the Lord.

Wow! How long will some of us choose to wait?

Growing up is hard to do, but we all have to do it. As we grow we choose what we want. At first our parents or guardians make our choices fr us. As we get a little older they let us begin to make our own choices. Some choices come easier then others do for us. Later on or choices are our own; or are they?

God will not cross our will. He did not make us as a robot or ‘yes men and women.’

When Jesus asked the up and coming disciples to “follow me,” they still had a choice. But they choose Christ. They had heard and seen this man called Jesus and knew He had something greater for them then what they could provide or give to themselves. So thy followed not knowing what was ahead of them, but in trust in the One they were asked to follow.

1 Corinthians 13:11 (Amplified Bible) When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; now that I have become a man, I am done with childish ways andhave put them aside.

I found this very interesting to read today. It made me step back and realize how much I do think of myself more than I ought at times…many times.

The Kingdom Of Self

When a child enters the world from the warm and secure environment of the womb he announces, “I have arrived, and I expect you – all of you to respond at once to my every need, whim and desire!“And we, the enthralled parents of this little bundle of cuddly “Goo-goo-ga-ga” joyfully comply. Immediately.

And thus the “kingdom of self ” is established as “Goo-goo-ga-ga” develops into a paragon of self-centered indulgence in a society where personal “rights” have been elevated to near deity status. And just how does the adult version of “Goo-goo-ga-ga” manifest itself ? In at least three ways:

 -Self-indulgence

The insatiable quest for self-gratification focuses on the greedy longings of the mind(uncontrolled imagination, greed, etc.), the physical craving of the body (uncontrolled indulgence in sex, food, sleep, indolence, etc.), and in the unquenchable quest for recognition. (1 John 2:15, 16  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that isin the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.)

-Self-protection

The former CEO of a company that went belly up told me how he was hauled into court and queried by the judge as to why the corporation had failed. “It was my fault. I failed in running the company. I am responsible,“said he. Stunned, the judge sat in muted silence. Finally, after gaining his composure he uttered, “In my 20 years on the bench, you are the first person to voluntarily admit they were to blame.

Self-protection says, “Its not my fault.“”I couldnt help it.“”You dont understand my background“(Thank you, Freud!) “The devil made me do it.“(Remember Flip Wilson?).

-Self-pity

Self-pity declares, “No one appreciates me.“”I got the shaft.“”Why does it always happen to me?

So what is the solution to relinquishing the enslaving “kingdom of self “?

How about a daily funeral for “self.” Better yet, how about a moment-by-moment funeral? “I am crucified with Christ…” (Galatians 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.) In order to die to self we need to win the battle on at least two fronts:

 (1) Regular quality time alone with God in meditation on His Word, worship and prayer.

 (2) Cultivating the art of living moment-by-moment in His presence.

Lord bless you and we shall visit again soon. Love and prayers to you all.
