WILL YOU BE THERE? (FORGIVENESS)

This is a long post. Some will agree, while others will not. This is not the reason I am posting this. I am posting this for selfish reasons, freedom. My desire is to please the Lord above all things. I want to let go of the past and present with the utmost desire to forgive. I desire true forgiveness in my life. I have harbored the sin of unforgiveness far to long. Yes unforgiveness is sin. I apologize to you and to my Jesus, Lord and Savior. This story you might not understand, it had shown me some of my down falls.

John 3-16-17

Alcoholism, I hate it, it’s a horrible addiction. It is like most any other addiction, deceptive and deadly.

Many people around an alcoholic will get hurt. The alcoholic not only damages their own body, but does seriously damages and injures those around them.

Alcoholics will eventually alienate themselves from everyone and everything. They will lose everything they hold dear. They will lose all drive and dreams in life as well as care and hope for any and everything. Their addiction will be everyone’s fault or responsibility but not theirs. They’ll eventually feel like the walking dead. They stop going through the motions of life. Why? It’s not worth it.

They do see the cliff of death ahead. They hear your screams to stop, “LOOK WHERE YOU ARE HEADED.” The rail car they are in keeps going faster and faster, the bridge is out at the cliff…..”JUST JUMP”, that’s all they need to do. They also feel they have burned too many bridges behind them, there’s no turning back. There’s nothing good ahead, nor is there any thing to go back for. So, if they stop or jump, where are those that were trying to get them to quit, to get off that run away rail car. Many times sad to say, doing what is important to them, just doing their own thing as before. So often this scenario is so true and those people who want something better for you seem to have lost interest. Abandonment, that is, “are leaving me?”, only until that person is well and going the direction they ought to.

We need each other. There are two sets of people who need healing, the alcoholic and those damaged by it. Healing starts with me, it starts with you, then the alcoholic. Forgiveness, is a great healing salve. Let go so you can heal and they can get a head start with you, with me.

It seems no one wants to come along-side and get their hands dirty for many reasons, but are they legitimate. Yes we need to let go so they can start seeing they are plummeting and quickly. But these also need sounding boards; someone to possibly yell at and for those who are getting lashed out at, will you still be there. To hold the hand that can not hold on any longer. Then walk away for a bit so they can begin to understand what they have done and said. Sometimes they might need someone to help them with the next step, because the view is growing dim and their feet are growing heavier with each step. Walk a step or two with them; your healing process needs to take place also. Be there and say “I love you” without any “but”, because that nullifies every positive thing just said. Then walk away again and so on.

We humans are so quick to be judge and jury, then hang each other out to dry and go our merry way. There seems to be no mercy in the end. At this time in my life I’m trying to come to the place where I can learn to have a God like manner. He is judge and jury, BUT He also has great mercy and compassion. I know I’ll never meet that goal, because I’m not God, but I want to aim to have forgiveness, love, grace and mercy for others as He has for me.

A great Scripture and story, if you will, is in Matthew 18:21-35. If you haven’t read it in a while please do so again, it is a great reminder of judgments, mercy, love and character.

*Coming alongside someone who has hurt you is not always the right thing to do, but forgiveness is. Forgiveness is freedom for you and the offender, no matter if they know it or not, you do; that is also a part of the freedom of forgiveness. Set yourself free, forgive. Don’t live in a self-made prison of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness leads to another kind of death, you don’t want that either. Live and live life the way God has intended….free in Him.

**Just a note – The story I have told you is true, but not with me specifically. Even though the one dealing with alcoholism does…it’s kind of weird how God has brought me around in such a way to acknowledge my lack, my sin, in not willing to let go and forgive. What bondage I have put myself in. Freedom has started today. Praise God! I thank the Lord for His continual grace on me, His grace has renewed my hope. Thank You, Jesus and all who are praying for me, longer than I would like to know, I’m sure…..quite a while. Ugh!!!!!

God bless you and thank you for “listening.” Pray for me as Jesus and I tackle this NEW journey of forgiveness. My desire is to give it over to Him, ALL of it.

Grace and Hope be yours through our Savior, Jesus,

Candy

Beginning to see….

Today is a day in each one of our lives. What are we to do with it? Is Jesus in it and all we do or are we going through the motions.

I’m sure you have, but have you ever had one of those days. One of those days, you keep second guessing yourself in everything you do or think. One of those days when the Lord is dealing with you and you are not sure which way is up or down. One of those days where you feel as if the Lord is trying to speak to ya and you can’t see the forest for the trees. One of those days where you cry at the drop of a hat; this IS a woman speaking here….so…. One of those days you hear a song and you think you’ree going to lose it. One of those days when you want to run, but there is no place to run. Well this is one of those days.

I am asking myself what I am doing. What is it Lord you are desiring from me? What do You want me to learn? This is not my life, but life you have given me to please You. The things touching my life, they bear not about me, but You.

That can be quite the ‘pill’ to swallow.

“Okay, goof-ball get off your hands and quit moping about, complaining and feeling sorry for yourself!”

Yep that is what I am doing. I’m feeling sorry for myself. My eyes and feelings are all about me again. Ya…sad to say, it’s all about me once again. Guess who I am acting like right now…or the first person that comes to my mind…..

Luke 10:38-42 (New Living Translation)
As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed them into her home. 39 Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. 40 But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” 41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! 42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

“Lord we have been down this road more time than I can count and yet here I am again.”

This life I live is not mine.

Galatians 2:20 (Amplified Bible)                                                             I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

My life, from the time I asked Jesus into my heart, to be my Savior and Lord of my life, has no longer been mine. I gave my life to Jesus to do with as He wills.

“Lord, I am asking that I would have the faith and trust to follow You so that my life would be pleasing to You.”

Colossians 1:10-11 (Amplified Bible)
That you may walk (live and conduct yourselves) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and desiring to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition]. 11 [We pray] that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy,

The only way I am able to do this is by spending time with Jesus. Spending time in the Word and at His feet.

Psalms 25:4-5 (KJV)
Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. 5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Hebrews 4:9-16 (Amplified Bible)
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Matthew 11:28-30 (Amplified Bible)
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. 30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

Revelation 3:19-20  (KJV)
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Revelation 3:19-20 (Amplified Bible)
Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I tell their faults and convict and convince and reprove and chasten [I discipline and instruct them]. So be enthusiastic and in earnest and burning with zeal and repent [changing your mind and attitude]. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me.

“Okay Lord here I am, my hearts desire is to surrender to You. Help me to be as Mary to sit at your feet, listen and know you. Help me to be as Isaiah was and allow you to cleanse my lips and say, ‘Here I am send me.’ (Isaiah 6:1-8) ‘I am undone’…cause me to be brought to silence in my foolishness and complaining. My flesh and foolishness only will bring destruction to me and all that I touch. ‘Cleanse me’ and ‘create in me a clean heart.’ ‘Restore unto me the joy of my salvation.’ Cause me to have a ‘broken and contrite heart’ before You. The ‘sacrifices’ I see as important are not what you desire, but that of a ‘broken spirit’ before You is what You desire. (Psalm 51) Show me; teach me; lead me; chasten me; stop me; do what it take to be pleasing to You and You alone. This is my prayer before You my Lord. I stand here before You and all that are here (reading this), my hearts desire is nothing but You. I love You Lord Jesus and yet I fail. I am beyond words to express my gratitude as You accept me as Yours. Yet i know that is not an excuse and that is why I am asking you to do these things and more in me so that I will be completely and totally Yours. I thank You Lord Jesus. My hope is in you. Without hope in You I’d be totally and completely lost. Lord I beg of You, forgive my sin. ‘I have sinned against You and You alone.’ (Psalm 51) My thoughts are sin. My disruptive feelings are sin. They are sin again You and Your great love for me. I am sorry. Turn me around as only You can do. Here I am Lord open me and expose me no matter how it hurts. I know this is for my good and Your glory. Here and now I lay my self before You. Amen.”

Forgiving Yourself

The Lord does NOt want or desire for us to be held in any bondage; held captive to any situation or circumstance; of our making or otherwise. When we become enslaved to a situation, there is NO freedom. We are bound and not free to freely fellowship with Jesus, worship Him or enter into His fullness for our lives. Nor are we able to have fellowship with fellow saints as we ought to. This is FLESH vs SPIRIT

John 8:36 (KJV)
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

John 8:36 (Amplified Bible)
So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free.

Freedon brings joy in the midst of the storm.

I put both KJV and the Amplified verses here to show we are free; we can and need to forgive ourselves.

This verse is a choice! The Lord has provided and blessed us with this freedom at the cross. We chose to believe it or not. We chose to walk in it or not. Chose to be set free from your hinderance in this life…that hinderance is more than likely yourself…on so many levels…it is for me…I know I am not the only one that suffers from this epidemic.

I want to explain a little to where this has come from. We can forgive others, as we know by scripture we are to do this. Many times we are not able to let go of things, when we have been hurt, because we blame ourselves. What could I have done different? Why did I not see this? How could I have prevented this? And so on. I believe you know where I am coming from here.

Forgiveness of others ~ just a reminder ~ 🙂

(Mark 11:22-26 (Amplified Bible)
And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. 23 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. 24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. 25 And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your failings and shortcomings.)

I would like to add, this does not negate that someone else was at fault; maybe they were, but the Lord is interested in YOUR heart ~ MY heart. There will be times we need to apologize for our actions, thoughts….. and do this before others, so we can experience the fullness of this freedom Jesus has intended us to live and walk in ~ everyday. (James 5:16 (KJV)
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.)

This freedom is such a wonderful healing of the hand of God in our lives.

As we seek the Lord to forgive others, we need to ask the Lord to help us to know what we need to learn in this situation and then as we don’t put blame others (forgiveness), we need to let go and forgive myself.

I trust you will understand what I am saying here. There are circumstances I do not feel I can go into, I am sure I have not been the only one who has had to learn this lesson….more than once. 😦

Lord gives and takes away, BUT He will bless us as we obey.

Once we do, we are set free from such a bondage like we have never known before. Free, love this word – liberated – no questions asked, it is completed – finished – VICTORY in Jesus, our Saviour. Thank You Lord Jesus for Your great longsuffering with me…each one of us.

FREEDOM from bondage (of any sort) is absolutely liberating. (Liberating is ~ Set free from; to set free (as from slavery or confinement); Freedom from a debilitating situation – the weight of IT is gone once we experience God’s freedom. Wow!) 😀 Praise the Lord.

Lord bless you all as you seek Him for your situations. Enter into what the Lord has for you and you will experience His wonderful grace and hope for each day. It is liberation to walk in His hope and grace. ❤ & /\’s 2 U!
