A New Years Resolutions?

Welcome 2014.

Welcome 2014.

To make a resolution or not? Hummmmmmm…….A New Year’s resolution is a secular tradition, most common in the Western Hemisphere but also found in the Eastern Hemisphere, in which a person makes a promise to do an act of self-improvement or something slightly nice, such as opening doors for people beginning from New Year’s Day. (Wikipedia)

Does this work? Not generally.  More than likely, NO!

A 2007 study by Richard Wiseman from the University of Bristol involving 3,000 people showed that 88% of those who set New Year resolutions fail. If a person were to share their resolution with an other person it will raise your goal set 10 – 22% more. Peer pressure tends to hold people to a higher accountability. (Wikipedia)

Resolutions......? Hmmmmm.....

Resolutions……? Hmmmmm…..

Back to my question, “To make a resolution or not?”Nope! I don’t think so. 1) I know me. 2) Statistics are against me. 3) Most resolutions are based on my own abilities and well……

So, I’m asking the Lord to do in me as He wills. This is no means a cop-out. How many of you know what it is to deny yourself and give up your will for another. It is not easy. No I am not a puppet on some Ones strings. I still will always have a choice. But my choice is to be the person, woman, wife, mom, friend, etc…..that Jesus desires me to be.

Matt. 6:33 says Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. So, do I seek God to have all the other things? No! just the opposite. I seek to know Jesus.

Is it me or is something not quite right here?

Is it me or is something not quite right here?

Matt 7-11 tells us to ask, seek, knock and continue doing so until we get what we desire of Him. But if you ask, seek and knock long enough you will see it’s not about what you or I desire, but about what He desires. God does not give us what is bad or harmful to us, but good and right for his honor and glory. Even if things are hard, it is still good.

Matt 22:37-40 also tells us to love the Lord God with our whole being and our neighbor as ourself. Wow! How many of us can say we truly do this. I can’t. But I want to learn how.

Psalm 51 is a great cry of my heart. Wash me-Purge-Renew-Create-Restore-Deliver-Teach me so I may know YOUR mercy, loving kindness, to give my self as a broken and humble sacrifice, that I may know YOUR joy, that I may know YOUR wisdom and truth, to experience YOU Jesus, to see YOUR face. Only God can do these things in my heart and life. That I may know the Lord in the fullest, as His desire to know me. (Rev. 3:21)

Sitting with Jesus.

Sitting with Jesus.

Deut 30:19, 20 says we are give a choice, blessing or curse – life or death. I want to choose the blessing and life in Christ.

Yes resolutions can be hard to do, let alone keep them. But not with Jesus.

Yes resolutions can be hard to do, let alone keep them. But not with Jesus.

Luke 10:38-42 shows how we can get caught up in good things, yet they are not the things that please the Lord, I desire to please the Lord. My hearts desire is the good part….at Jesus feet. Jesus help me not to waste my time.

1, 2, 3 John tell us in many places to love the Lord. To put Jesus first. To love not the world nor the things in it. We live in the world but we do not have or need to partake if it’s foolish ways. Johns hearts desire was for Christians to put Jesus first, to live for Him with every fiber of their being…body, soul and spirit…with everything we are to put Jesus first and foremost in our lives. Teach me to love as you love You….to love others.

I can not do this with-in myself, my know how or my will or flesh….it will all fail. It’s not there. It will utterly fail. It will all come tumbling to the ground.

I choose You, Jesus, today and every day.

Psalm 25:5; 31:3; 143:10……. These are just a few verses….

May the Lord bless you as you choose Him and His things throughout this New Year, or His soon return.

As I sat thinking about a friend today I wrote a poem for her.
Later I re-vamped it as I thought of what the Lord did for us
through the Rainbow and Noah. God gave Noah a new hope. The Lord
gives us hope. He gives us hope in every storm of life. We have
rainbows, victories, to look forward to in Jesus.

God, the Father gave us hope through RAINBOWS.
Jesus death was nothing short of cruel-crimson RED.
Resurrection, sweeter than ORANGE Blossoms in the air.
Brilliant was the YELLOW sun upon the empty tomb.
The moods were BLUE 'til the angel spoke, "He rose."
INDIO in its fragrant glory could not compare to His.
In PURPLE, Jesus was mocked, in clouds He rose the victor.
The RAINBOW gives promises to those who hope in Him.
We all should know the story, always to remember.
Of a renewed future for all mankind, the promise, the rainbow,
Bright or dull, all rainbows are a reflection of the SON.
Each and every RAINBOW IS filled with HOPE.
Hope for today and our tomorrow's.
Hope for His soon coming, in the clouds.
Taking His Bride, those who endured storms to experience His 'Bow.
His glory will be revealed in victories rainbows.
His glory will be revealed soon to all mankind.
The rainbow will be there as a reflection of the SON, no doubt.
The rainbow, only as a symbol and an ornament.
The glory of the Father will be revealed through a marriage.
A marriage of His Son and His Bride to be.
Who is preparing them-self to be Jesus Bride?
This isn't about the Rainbow alone, but a relationship with the SON.
After every storm there is a rainbow. It may be faint, but there is a rainbow. - PHOTO by Candy Clonts

Thank you, Veterans AND their Families, Present and Past

Veterans dayToday is Veterans Day. First of all before you read this I want to thank ALL our Veterans and families serving today and who have served yesterday. One who are out and away from their homes, are not the only ones out on a battle field, so are their families and I applaud also for a great service well done. God bless and keep you all.   I have been rather lazy today. Relaxing. Reading. Surfing the net. Relaxing some more…being lazy. Why? It’s a holiday of course.

As I surfed through the net, Facebook and a few other blogs and such I check in once in a while, I was amazed. Maybe I shouldn’t have been, but I was. The debate, rantings, raving, appreciations, cheers, jeers and rude people over Veterans Day and why we celebrate it.

As I have enjoyed my lazy “holiday” many did not. I am thinking of our service men and women who are not allowed this luxury today, the luxury to sit quietly in their homes, doing nothing.

I have read several pieces of information, if that is what you might call it today. I have been take aback by many people’s thoughts and opinions of Americans and the service personnel. It not only had to do with Americans, but other service men and women throughout the world. The lack of respect was unreal. I know there are “other” military or militant people out there that are “ugly and brutal.” There are ones who claim a lot of things about us “stupid” Americans.

I am one who considers me to be blessed. Yes I may be very naïve! I may be very sheltered! I may be uninformed! I may be stupid to some! I may be a lot of things. But I am very grateful and proud of our men and women serving in our armed serves. I feel saddened by the debate. I don’t agree with all the choices that the leaders of our country or countries make, I am not in their place or situations, I would not to want to sit in their seats and make the decisions that they make. Nor will I sit in judgment of their actions. One day there will be a greater judge then me with my petty ranting and ravings. Do NOT think for a moment most is us sit idly by, twiddling our thumbs wondering if we know what’s going on or doing nothing, think again. No, we the everyday people probably don’t know all we think we should but that is okay. No! I am not burying my head in the sand and neither are most people. Some are sounding as if they have an axe to grind. I will respect my country, its flag, leaders, and the men and women who serve and represent this country. I have heard firsthand from several that have served. It has not been an easy life for them. But they chose this life and many of them have said they would choose this life again for their country and its people. They are a lot less brainwashed than many people think or believe. I thank you, our veterans and others serving today for the better of us all. Yes, I am dumb enough to believe this. God bless all you who have served and are serving in our armed services and putting your life on the line on a daily, moment by moment basis. I am proud to be an American and grateful to these who have enabled me to keep my freedoms. Yes, freedoms. Agree or disagree, oh well, America was founded on specific principles, The Constitution, and all that it holds and represents for its people. Our serve men and women do the best they know to do at the moment given to uphold that. Thank you again to Americas service men and women here and abroad of today and yesterday. God bless you and your families for your service.
