the HOLY and PASSION week

This HOLY WEEK. This is the PASSION WEEK. It is a bittersweet week in knowing what our Saviour Jesus Christ

Tonight (representative) Jesus was trying to tell, express, one of the greatestJesus-washinglessons He was trying to tell them during His three years of ministry. Jesus washed their feet. He was telling them “like I am doing this to you do it to one another and all you meet. You and others travel in and through the world, the world is a dirty dark place, you need to take care of each other. Support them. Pray for them. Do what it is you need to do to take care of fellow christians.” This is what it is to wash one another’s feet. Jesus was also having his last meal with His disciples.

He was also telling them another important thing. His body was going to be broken for them, for us. we need to receive this. Take it in and let it be assimilated into our very being. He was also tell them they were to be broken in like manner. We as christians will suffer as we follow Him. Jesus was also betrayed by one of His own, just as He said that one was sitting at the same table.  After dinner He took a few disciples to pray with im. They fell asleep….but Jesus prayed for what was to come would pass. Jesus wanted the will of the Father more than His own will. He knew what He was to do. He was betrayed by a kiss, by Judas, and taken prisoner. Beginning tonight through tomorrow He was being interrogated, beaten, spit on, flogged, He was stripped of His clothes and mocked and jeered at, traded for a murder who was set free in Christ’s place, tormented and tortured more than any man has ever been. Tomorrow (representative) they are going to nail Him to a cross. He was set on display for all to see. Jesus was unrecognizable at this time. His body was so bruised, torn and bloodied. This was one of the most horrible death a man could suffer at that time. Jesus will die tonight.  He shed His blood for you and me. To make sure He is dead, a solider will thrust a sword into his side.

Jesus was slain for you and me. He took our sin and put it to death there.

Jesus was slain for you and me. He took our sin and put it to death there.

Many people during this time made choices….who was was the Son of God? Was this man, Jesus the Messiah? some realized, “Yes, this is the Messiah.” One of thing that truly blesses me; Jesus was hung between tow thieves. One mocked HIm, one accepted Him as Saviour. Jesus told Him, “tonight you will see Me in Paradise.” The next thing, one of the captain of the guards, saw Jesus as the Son of God. At this horrible time at least two men came to know Jesus as Saviour.

Jesus was taken to a borrowed tomb. Wrapped and mad ready for burial. Pilate and  the Pharisees set a large stone in front of the tomb with guards to watch they did not want anyone to come get Jesus from this tomb. Why? It was prophesied He would raise the third day, they were not going to let that happen.

But Jesus said He would raise the third day and He would be in Galilee and visit with His disciples there.

BUT three days later the earth shook, the great stone rolled away, an angel appeared, the guards got scared and ran away. Oh what a sight that must have been. The angel set atop the great stone, I am sure full of joy, rejoicing. Why? Jesus walked out of that darken tomb a victor over sin and death. Jesus brought us VICTORY! Jesus walked out of that tomb…walked out. I can bet that angel was sitting on that stone having the time of it “life”, if you will. 😀

Not only has death and sin lost it’d sting and hold on us, Jesus gave us free access into the HOLY OF HOLIES. We can have communion with Him, personally, we no longer need a mediator to go into the Holy of Holies. He made a way for us to enter in, to have an intimate relationship with Him, to speak to Him freely. How? When the earthquake happened the curtain that separated man from the presence of God, was torn in two…get this…from top to bottom. This curtain was so high and heavy it could only have been torn by the hand of God.

Jesus rose from the grave. He said He would do this. He walked and talked with the men on the way to Galilee. He did what He said He would do.

What Jesus said He would do he did.

I know I have left out a lot, but I want two share two more things quickly.

(1) Not only did Jesus do all He said He was going to do, He has given us victory over sin and death. He took our sin and it was nailed to the cross; He shed His blood so we did not have to die the death for our sins. We choose to sin once we know Him as Saviour. We can walk in the heavenlies here on earth, Jesus has made a way for us to do so. Jesus has made a way for us to b conquerors in this life. Through His death and resurrection we have access to live life abundantly in Him.

When this body dies or as scripture says, goes to sleep, we do not have to fear. We know where we are going, to heaven to sit with Jesus, with His Father in Paradise. Because of what Jesus did at the cross we have so much to look forward to, now and shortly to come.

(2) Jesus has promised to come again. Just as He went into the clouds, He will return. I know He is going to return for those who watching and waiting for Him. If we are watching and waiting for Him, we will be giving ourselves totally and completely to Him. No tha doesn’t mean we won’t make mistakes, it is what we do when we make those mistakes. Life in Christ has not been promised to be a bed of roses, but a life of joy and peace in believing, in believing in Jesus…trusting Him with our whole hearts.

When I look into the skies I wonder when. It could be now, I could be tomorrow, next week, next month….I do not know. Jesus doesn’t know when, only His Father knows the day and hour. I look forward to that day and hour.

How can I look forward to that time? Because of the work that Jesus did at the cross and raising in victory.

This is a sad, bittersweet week, but it is a victorious time also.

Reflect on what Jesus did, what He went through for you. Reflect on His death and His reserecction…life for you and me.

Blessings to you.

Good meals were feed to me today. How about you?

Sunday Going To Meetin’ Day, that is what today is. Seemed to have a House full…thank You, Jesus. Had three good meals already today and it is only 3 pm, it might be 4 pm before I get through here 🙂 .

I’ll have start off and say I didn’t have breakfast this morning….

Sunday School we talked about unity. Not only having the mind of Christ, but being in one accord with one another. It struck home reading in Acts, starting in chapter 1 through bits and pieces through chapter 10. It starts with the disciples, Jesus instructs them to go and wait TOGETHER for the Holy Spirit. They, other men and women waited, prayed in unison, with the same purpose and desire, in one room for 10 days. Their unity was victorious…the infilling of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in other languages (tongues). Several Scriptures were gone over showing the unity, being of the same mind and in one accord with one another. So, believe it tor not being of the same mind as your brother or sister in the Lord is clear and needs to be as such in the church body.

The second meal came in the morning service. Today is Palm Sunday, in the first parts of the Holy Week, Passover, we did talk about this and where it started in Exodus and Jesus entry into Jerusalem, bu tit doesn’t stop there. Obedience. Is there something we are not allowing the Lord to touch in our lives. First of all God asked and expected obedience from Israel when He asked Moses to go get His people. Pharaoh would not let them go, but God’s people were instructed to things that may have seemed a bit far-fetched, but out of their obedience they were set free. They were to sacrifice a lamb, save the blood, roast it and eat it. In the evening they were to brush the blood over the door posts of their homes, go inside and wait. That night the death angel was sent out and the homes that did not paint the lambs blood over their door posts (door ways) the death angel took the first-born son of each family. Israel obeyed and the Egyptians, they lost their sons. It sounds morbid putting it like that, but that is what God asked. Through God’s people’s obedience, they were set free. This was the first Passover.

Concerning Jesus entry into Jerusalem, He knew He was going to come up against opposition, betrayal, and His soon death a few days later.  I cannot imagine the weight Jesus possibly felt at this time, He didn’t go into Jerusalem blindsided, He knew what was heading His way. But through obedience to His Father, Jesus became our sacrifice. He became our Passover lamb. By His blood we are covered. Jesus, a pure and spotless Lamb, with no blemishes, took my place of death, your place. Jesus did not reserve anything for Himself, because of YOU AND ME!

As we were encouraged this morning (and this goes double for me or more like triple), “is there anything you are holding onto that could be hindering the work of the Lord in your life?” We were encouraged to come forward for special pray. Many obeyed the voice of the Lord, I know some were touched, it was evident, but I know God DID touch each one. we were also encouraged, all of us to come to the alters and pray, asking the Lord to reveal Himself to us and do wha tHe is asking of us. We too are to be a sacrifice. Romans 12:1 and 2, tells us to be a living sacrifice…wait here is the Scripture for you. Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Here it is also in the Amplified Bible with a bit more explanation: Romans 12:1-2 I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

The Lord wants so to bless and touch our lives. His desire is to give us His best, not scraps from His Banqueting Table, but the choicest of everything, but this comes through OBEDIENCE  to His call and will in our lives. His desires not mine. As Jesus said in the garden before His betrayal and death, “Not my will Father but thine be done.” Jesus didn’t go to the cross for Himself, but for all man-kind, for you and me.

My third meal thus far today was pot luck. Oh what a spread we had today as I heard someone put it, and how it was. There was food left,, but if you went away hungry it was your fault.

You see in the services we were fed quite well. If any one of us walked away not being filled to overflowing, it was my fault; it was your fault. God was there. He fed us well, there were no scraps on the table. The table was prepared with the choicest pieces of the word of God for us today.

Don’t be fooled. Every time you walk into the House of God His Word being taught, you should not walk out of that place and still be in want or need of more; the feeling of a lack in your heart and soul. God is there to supply for you in every place and every detail in those places of your life. If you need some more, you’re not quite satisfied, go get someone to pray with you until the Lord God Almighty fills you up to overflowing, until you fill you will burst at the seams. God just isn’t in the church building, but in you and with you. Go home, get on your face before Him and pray like there is no tomorrow. God will meet you there. Seek th Lord for HIs presence and His will for you. Listen to Him, He wants to speak to you, He knows your needs, find out what He wants and desires for you. Sit and listen at His feet, He is wanting to tell you something if you haven’t heard from Him yet today.

Lord bless you. Trusting the Lord to shower you in His amazing grace and to walk fully in His unending hope. Until later. ❤ & /\’s
