THANKSGIVING/GRATITUDE
Once again I would like to present a challenge to as many as would like to get involved in sharing what we are thankful for. Feel free to add what you are thankful for here on my daily posts or you can create your own list daily. THANKFULNESS IS AN ATTITUDE TO GRATITUDE…These are blessings we can encourage one another with daily. Each day I will add a new post through November.
I love the sunsets. The sunset is a time of reflection of the day. It is a time, to me, to sit back and reflect and meditate on the graciousness of the Lord through the day he has given me. The sunset is a reflection of his glory and his grace, his total provision and sufficiency for my day has just blessed me with. The sunset reminds me of the hope I have in him. As the sun raises in the morning, I will praise him if he chooses to bless me with a new day. To me a sunset is hope and a continual reminder of Jesus’s presence with me.
Psalms 113:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.
3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name [is] to be praised.
4 The LORD [is] high above all nations, [and] his glory above the heavens.
5 Who [is] like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,
6 Who humbleth [himself] to behold [the things that are] in heaven, and in the earth!
7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, [and] lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
8 That he may set [him] with princes, [even] with the princes of his people.
9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, [and to be] a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.
I am thankful for the sunsets. No matter how stormy that they might be, as the setting of the sun the Lord will still be praised.
To me the sunset represents hope, a new hope for a new day. I know were not promised tomorrow, but the sunset shows hope, reveals hope. Just as the sun rose in the promise of a new day, the sun sets in like manner. We raise in the morning from our sleep and we praise the Lord for a new day. Also in the setting of the sun we praise the Lord for being with us through that day.
Lord Jesus I thank you for being with me through this day, and as the sun sets and your glory and grace shows fourth in brilliant colors I praise you and I thank you for all that you are and have been and will be. I will praise you as the sunrises and I will praise you as the sun sets. I will praise you in the sunset for you have been with me and you have sustained me in more ways than I can count. Through the storms and the calms of the day you have blessed me and I praise for your continual presence.
Lord bless you all as you sit and watch your sunsets in your life and reflect upon what God has blessed you with and carried you through.
