What are you thinking?

“What are you thinking?” I asked myself.

Have you ever asked yourself that question? It seems I am asking myself that question these days more than I really care to ‘think’ about.

There has been much transpiring these days in my mind’s eye. Many of them my making. So why do we (I) let, allow is a better word; why do I allow such thought to take place.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (Amplified Bible)
3 For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, 5 [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

We do live a fleshly body, but we are not to act out in the ways of the flesh. Spiritual warfare is not against one another, but with the enemy of this world, the enemy of God’s people particularly.

Ephesians 6:10-13
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Ephesians 6:11-12 (Amplified Bible)
11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

We are not being opposed by people.

We can look back when Joseph told his brothers you meant this for evil, but God meant it for good. Gen. 50:20 Also, when ones murmured and complained against Moses and Aaron, God said it was not them they were complaining against but Him, God. Ex0. 16:8 These are just to name a few people who had things said directly to them and was meant for them to take to heart and heed to these people’s word. These words that we spoken and actions were meant to sting and be injurious. It has not changed through time. Ones who speak so freely of their feelings, usually having very little regard for the feelings of the ones they are so harsh toward. So, some times I believe we are in quite good company.

Our opposition is really from the enemy, the devil. Our battle field is not with one another, but on our knees fighting spiritually in prayer, fasting, and more prayer.

We face many different situations and circumstances in our lives. Each one of them seem to have people attached to them. We have different relationships, jobs, finances, school, churches, its leaders and the members, our country and the things that are taking place here and abroad…..many things concern us. There are many things touching our hearts and minds every day. Whatever they are, we are to be assured God is with you and He is there where your heart is weighted down.

I asked the question, “What are you thinking?” I ask it again…Well?

Our first, sometimes second, or third…..responses come out of our flesh. We may tend to act and react just as “ugly” as the one that started the “mud-slinging” and “garbage dumping”, but we entered into the very same realm when we jumped out of our skins and our feet came alone right out of our mouths because we tripped over the very words that came from our lips. Our heart and brains raced in all kinds of directions rather than saying, “Lord what is going on here? What are You doing and what do You want me to see and learn from this?” We tend to do this as a last-ditch effort. Our first responses are…..ggrrrrrr; ummmmm and we continue to spit and sputter things we ought not, until we get just about as low as  the serpent slithering along right behind us. Who do you think is coaxing and cheering you on? It certainly isn’t the Lord. What are you thinking? You weren’t thinking nor was I. We were reacting and acting as the devil wants us to, in the flesh.

With each given situation we are given two choices: One, to act out in a fleshly, ungodly, unholy, unrighteous manner, displeasing the Lord, or; Second, we can stop in mid-air of our first thought that approaches our minds and say, “Lord help!” Then run as fast as you can, spiritual and mentally….physically if possible, to the feet of Jesus asking for His help, direction, wisdom and ability to stand against this thing that has come against you. The Lord will hear that prayer of yours and He will be there with you through the entire situation.

There will be times, many times, you may not seem to feel or sence His presence, but it is there. Continue to stand in the provisions the Lord has given you. Put on His armour. Stand fast and firm in it. Give thanks continually the Lord is with you and pray, trust, obey, believe, hope and pray some more knowing that your God is able. Eph. 6:10-18

What are you thinking? What am I thinking?

These are the things we are to be thinking. If we will learn to think on the things we are instructed here, we will begin to rise victoriously over the enemy and situations of this life.

Philippians 4:8
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I thank the Lord Jesus for His plenteous supply He has provided for us every moment for each day.  I thank Him for the hope I have in Him to see me through each situation of life by His amazing grace. I thank the Lord that He has chosen me. Lord Help me to make right choices and decisions to please You in all I do and say. Thank you Lord Jesus, You are my Saviour, Friend, Companion, Helper, Healer, God, Counselor, Love and (trusting) Bridegroom soon to be.

Bless the Lord o my soul, bless His holy name….All that is within me I’ll bless His holy, wonderful name.

Lord bless you all.

Verse for the day…Nov 7, 2011

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Amplified Bible)
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. 12 Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. 13 Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.

Oh how good the Lord is! We find ourselves in so many predicaments and places we should never be. yet when we see where we have allowed ourselves to be put, we open our eyes, ears and hearts to the Lord. When we do this we realize Who God really is. He never left us, we chose to go a different direction, therefore, trial enter into our lives. Many time, most times, it is not wha we have done but what God allows to take place in our lives. Don’t get me wrong we do get ourselves into a straight and we do reap what we sow. (Gal. 6:7-9)

God always hears our cries. There are times He does turn, scripture says he does this, Psalms 66:18 is one scripture that comes to mind. When we regard, hold sin (iniquity) close to our heart, it draws a deep wedge between us and the Lord. We wonder why it seems He isn’t listening.

God is a holy God. Sin and holiness are like oil and water, they do not mix. Try as you may, but it won’t work.

What will cause the Lord to hear us once again, repentance. Here in these above scriptures is what took place with Israel. It had to. BUT, all along God was still with them and watching over them. Some of them chose to sin and others, well sad to say, life happens. And so does life happen with us. Yet God is always there and watching over you. You may not feel as if He is, it hurts. Yep it does. God has a plan and it is a plan of HOPE.

Because He has a plan and higher thoughts than we do for ourselves or sometimes of that of the Lord, we lose sight of the greatness of our Lord and Savior.

When you feel as if you are in a straight, between a rock and a hard place, or hanging by your finger nails on the edge of a cliff, you probably are. This is when the Lord has your attention, sad to say this is where many of us end up before we see we have allowed ourselves to distance ourselves from the Lord. This is the time and place we come to and cry out to the Lord. AND He does hear us. He delivers us and blesses us.

Remember when you are in these places they are also for your growth in Christ. Learn to trust, rely, and believe the Lord for every situation you find yourself, He is there, He desires to help you in the midst of the hurt. There will be joy and peace in believing that God is with you all the time, every where, everyday.

This is our hope and His grace being revealed to us.

Lord bless you.

Give it all to the Lord. All the pieces!

Joy in realizing God's hope through His grace.
